| Sport Pilot Training Program Course Discription Minimum training requirements for certification is 20 hours. We budget 25 hours to make sure you are a safe and proficient pilot. (You only pay for what you actually use). The course is designed to have 2 students at a time. We feel having someone learning alongside you is a great benefit. You'll have someone to study with, share flying stories with, and a chance to make a new friend. Training is conducted using our Sport Pilot Syllbus so that everything is organized and efficient. You will fly twice a day on most days, have a pre and post flight lesson each day and a Ground School lesson on some days. Most days will require a little homework or study, but you will have plenty of off time to enjoy our island. Upon signing up for the course you will be sent all books and study material. You will need to take your FAA written test prior to beginning your course. ( Instructions on where and how will be included with your books and study material). (detailed instructions on where and how will be included with our books and study material). To be eligible for a student sport pilot certificate, you must: 1. Be a minimum of 16 years of age (14 for glider). 2. Be able to read, write, and understand the English language. 3. Have a valid photo ID to verify your identity. 4. Complete FAA Form 8710-11. Student sport pilot certificates are issued by: 1. The local FAA Flight Standards District Office (FSDO). 2. Designated Pilot Examiners (DPE) or Sport Pilot Examiners (SPE). 3. Aeromedical Examiners (AME) - the doctors that issue FAA medical certificates. Requirements to graduate: * At least 17 years old * U.S. Driver License * Read, speak, understand English * Pass FAA Exams * ...
